Why we rebuilt our wastewater data platform from scratch

Real-time monitoring and long-term infiltration & inflow analytics — in one cloud GUI, with the integration layer built into the product.

Most wastewater operators work across four separate systems: flow data in one tool, asset data in another, SCADA in a third, weather in a spreadsheet. The CCTV crew gets dispatched on whichever subset of data is in front of you. The next budget gets defended the same way. Preventos Hero collapses that fragmentation into one cloud platform.
The new generation, released April 2026, is a ground-up rebuild as true SaaS. Microsoft / Entra ID single sign-on, utility-grade authentication, full audit trail. Every customer environment runs the same up-to-date version — no more upgrade projects. The integration layer is part of the product: IoT level and flow loggers, SCADA, NIS / asset registries, weather feeds, manual readings — all into one unified data model.
Three things change
One backbone for every data source. IoT loggers (Technolog, Badger Meter, Detectronic and others), SCADA, NIS, weather feeds, manual readings — all in the same GUI. No silos. No spreadsheets between teams.
From data to defensible decisions. Every infiltration & inflow number now carries a per-site data-quality score and weather-corrected context — built to hold up in a budget meeting and in front of a regulator. The full I/I metric catalogue — Qnrw, Qmin4wk, Qmax8wk, Nv, Nrw-% — is available with year-on-year comparison on a single map.
From problem-spotting to action-suggesting. Hero now surfaces concrete next steps for each problem area — check SCADA data quality on this branch · schedule CCTV in catchment X · deploy follow-up IoT level loggers — prioritized by network impact.
In production today
Preventos Hero is in daily production use across Finnish water utilities. The same Hero environment scales from city-scale networks to single-village water cooperatives.
